Well there's been a lot going on since I've last posted. Today is Fathers day. Boo. I just got back from the doctors. Why you ask? I had banged my thumb joint on my right hand on a metal box on a door. Fun, fun, fun. Anyway, they apparently didn't give me the right paperwork and so the doctor had to go fishing. She's not even sure that it was the right one. My hand is not broken or fractured. It is however damaged in the tendon. They gave me a splint (bulky hand wrap thing. Ick.) and told me to take Ibuprofrin for decreasing swelling. I come to find out that they require a drug screening!? I was like... whaaaa? I only have a problem with my hand! But... apparently it is all part of their workers comp. procedure. I left the house this morning at 8:30 am. I just got back at noon!
Weather
The weather here lately has really sucked! We've had tornado watches, flood warnings, hail, the whole shebang. It has rained here for about a week straight. One day we got 10" of rain! Lakes have flooded and completely emptied. Dams have failed. Flooding occured over highly used roads and thus they've been closed. Just a real mess. Yesterday we got some INSANE hail during a thunder storm! It was mostly hailing, instead of raining. The water ducts (the one's that take water away from the building) had collection piles of hail 2 hours afterward! It looked like a pile of snow at the end of the drain pipes! Let's see, June + hail = WTF? Earlier in the week, we had gone out of the house and went to the Library. We got stuck there in their tornado shelter for well over an hour. The weather had just gotten so bad that we couldn't leave. People had left their possessions inside of the Library. However, due to THEIR procedures, they couldn't open up the Library untill the warnings were lifted. So, these people were royally pissed. I would be too but... I would have taken my expensive possessions with me if they gave the call of evacuation. Duh! Oh, speaking of evacuations, some counties near here were evacuating people. Their homes got flooded out and they did it for their saftey. Least to say, there were some people who stayed behind to TRY to save their home. I'm like, what the heck are YOU gonna do to save your home from FLOODING!? *sigh* This is Deedlit, signing out.
